A Mutare soldier has been jailed for 12 months for resisting arrest over allegations of failing to pay child maintenance fees. He appeared before Muatare magistrate who suspended 4 months of the sentence on condition of good behavior. A scuffle had ensued after two policeman tried to arrest him for defaulting maintenance payment, he grabbed the cuffs of one of the policeman and used them to cuff the other policeman before taking of his riot cap, promoting the officers to call for reinforcements. He was finally arrested with the help of other officers.
