The Constitutional Court (Con-Court) has struck down corporal punishment adding on that it violates juveniles’ rights to human dignity. Chief Justice Chidyausiku, handed down a ruling which declared corporal punishment against juveniles to be unconstitutional as ruled by the High Court in 2015. It was held that the court’s ruling did not apply to corporate punishment administered in homes and in schools. Chief Justice Chidyausiku added that nothing further will be said relating to the constitutionality of corporal punishment administered in schools, by parents , legal guardians and any other persons in loco parenting.
